Big Bass Bonanza

Big Bass Bonanza is one of those games I picked up expecting to delete in ten minutes and ended up keeping on my home screen. The premise is simple: you're out on colorful waters trying to reel in the biggest fish you can find. The art is cheerful and cartoonish, with splashes and sparkles that make each catch feel like a small event.

Controls are a one-thumb affair. You tap to cast, then time your taps as the line tenses up — nothing complicated, but there's a nice rhythm once you find it. Bigger fish put up more of a fight, and learning when to hold and when to reel is where the game quietly gets its hooks in you.

It's the kind of thing that fits perfectly into a coffee break. Sessions are short, there's no pressure, and the sound design — those little water plinks and reel clicks — is oddly relaxing. Not a deep game, but a very well-made light one.
